The Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) provides health coverage to eligible children, through both Medicaid and separate CHIP programs. CHIP is administered by states, according to federal requirements. The program is funded jointly by states and the federal government.
The Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) serves uninsured children up to age 19 in families with incomes too high to qualify them for Medicaid. States have broad discretion in setting their income eligibility standards, and eligibility varies across states.
APRIL 2021: DDL FLEXIBILITY COVID-19 UPDATE FROM CDC
Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, demand for DDL's has soared while supply has remained limited. CDC understands this and is extending temporary flexibilities to providers who need assistance until supplies increase. Check this document for detail on what to do if your DDL has passed its recalibration date or isn't functioning properly.
As part of our public health effort there is an ongoing focus on data and data quality so that we can make the most informed decisions for the communities we serve. As a result, IDPH & CDPH have collaborated to create a new data quality work group, our mission is to ensure that we have the most accurate and up to date immunization for our residents. Our preferred method of reporting your doses to the Immunization Registry (I-CARE) is via Health Level 7 (HL7). HL7 is a set of international standards used to provide guidance with transferring and sharing data between various healthcare providers. We have been asking existing providers to participate in our Data Quality Review Program by sending test patients into the I-CARE test environment to ensure that all HL7 codes including race/ethnicity are coded and transmitting correctly. If you are interested in participating in this program, please click HERE to start the process. We highly encourage all our Chicago VFC Programs to participate in this program.
If you are new provider to our VFC program, you can start the HL7 Onboarding Process by clicking HERE and welcome aboard!
