Educational Resources
- CDPH Trainings: The Chicago Department of Public Health has partnered with CDC's Project Firstline to develop Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) trainings for frontline healthcare workers. These trainings will showcase real case-studies from Chicago-based healthcare facilities, feature IPC demonstrations, and are designed to supplement existing trainings by CDC's Project Firstline.
- Learn about Infection Control in Health Care: CDC’s Project Firstline provides innovative and accessible resources so all healthcare workers can learn about infection control in health care. Topics include: the basic science of viruses, how respiratory droplets spread COVID-19, how viruses spread from surfaces to people, multi-dose vials, PPE, hang hygiene, virus strains, environmental cleaning and disinfection, etc.
- Lead an Infection Control Training: Our facilitator toolkit is designed to work with your team’s learning styles and busy schedules. Whether you’ve got 10 minutes, or 60, we’ve got resources to help you deliver a great training.
- Infection Control and COVID-19: Find relevant, bite-sized educational content about current outbreaks and diseases.
- Explore Project Firstline Partnerships: Explore activities from over 75 partners nationally, including the American Health Care Association, the American Nurses Association, APIC Consulting Services, Asian and Pacific Islander American Health Forum, National Hispanic Medical Association, several university and community college partners, etc.
- Access Infection Control Educational Materials: Find multimedia resources - including short videos, fact sheets, job aids, infographics, posters, printed materials, interactive computer lock screens, and social media graphics - to utilize at your facility on foundational IPC topics.
- Earn Continuing Education: Earn CE’s on CDC Train for PFL content.
- Translated Resources: IPC materials translated into Spanish & additional languages.
- Foundational Infection Control Training: Lead trainings with our toolkit, which includes a Facilitator Toolkit Guide, Inside Infection Control Participant Booklet, Project Firstline is for You Poster, Session Feedback Form, and Facilitator Self-Assessment Form. All sessions have scripted slide sets for 60, 20, or 10 minute trainings.

- Interactive Resources: Project Firstline has engaging, interactive resources to increase and test your infection control knowledge no matter your healthcare setting.

- Where Germs Live in Healthcare Interactive Infographic: This interactive infographic will help you understand environmental infection control.
